Jennifer Sims, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Jennifer Sims graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S.A. in avian biology in 2015, and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary medicine with honors in 2020, making her a double dawg!

After graduating, Dr. Sims returned to her hometown, Alpharetta, GA, to start off her veterinary career. In 2023, Dr. Sims got married and moved back to Athens with her husband, who works at UGA, and their senior rescue beagles Mona & Betty. When Dr. Sims was a veterinary student she did an externship here at Good Hands, so when the decision was made to move back to Athens she knew she wanted to join the Good Hands family!

Professionally, Dr. Sims has a passion for treating small companion animals and particularly enjoys internal medicine, cardiology, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Sims’ primary goal in veterinary medicine is to provide the highest quality care for both the pet and their owner, with a focus on preventative medicine.

Dr. Sims and her husband are avid UGA fans, and in their free time enjoy going to as many UGA sporting events as possible. Go Dawgs! They also love to travel both the U.S. and abroad and had recent trips to Australia, Mexico, Italy, and The Netherlands.

Dr. Sims is excited to meet you and all your furry family members!
